Indomitable Spirit

I bolted away from the guilt that was clinging to me.

I paid for the crimes that I never did.

Existing in this world like a wordless mime,

Cringing even to the pleasant sound of wind chimes

An evil that lies beneath embarked unknown ties;

Forgotten dreams came to haunt me.

Lingering in my serene mind,

Staggering on emotional landmines.

Driving me insane,

Watching for hopeful signs.

In the end, the indomitable spirit faded in a bottle of wine.
