Sunday Morning Love: Soft Moments & Endless Feelings

On a bright Sunday morning,
Waking up to sun-kissed flowers
Reminds me of your face every hour.

My dawn begins with writing a song for you
While sipping my favorite Tennessee booze.
But it is hard to write
When life is filled with blues.

I don’t know why
I can’t move on when
You aren’t here,
Even for a short while.

So, I came looking for you.

I set my eyes to sail,
Traveling several hundred miles
To see your dainty little face
Hiding behind a star-studded silvery veil.
This might sound like a fairy tale, but
It’s just a soulless poem
Penned by an Indian male.

Life gets easier when someone hands me an empty glass
And fills it with extra añejo tequila for straight shots.
But all I have is a frail heart
Surging with your thoughts.

Have I ever told you that the moon never blinked while watching you?
Because it loves when you blush pink,
Just like I do.

There was no need for Mexican pot when
A mere wink from you got me high enough;
It made me believe that even penguins could fly.

It is hard to find a bond with the deepest roots.
Everything went pretty smooth until
Adam found the forbidden fruit,
Just like the lies that found their way back to the truth.
I should have never skipped playing the flute,
And now I am left with a broken tooth.

I always craved your voice; it has always been music to my ears.
It felt like waiting for an Ed Sheeran track for more than a year.

You tied me with your tiny little eyes
When I had already fallen in love with your voice.
You took me under your skies
When solitude was my prime choice.

No matter how much I write,
I could never come up with a poem
As beautiful as you.
