Dog tags identify our disfigured soldiers,
Corpses pile up in body bags whenever
A nation tries to be a superpower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We are powerless pawns dying in the warzone,
Our lives are always at stake, at a fascist\u2019s command.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We drown our foes in a pool of shrapnel,
so the elite’s world can spin,
Yet again, democracy failed to win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fighting with patriotism,
While the country fell apart
Under the weight of radical nationalism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Waging war against our own kind
Leaves bloodstains we cannot hide.
We can endure the wounds and scars,
But not the darkness in our minds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The night can’t dim the glow of luminous stars,
Like soldiers martyred in futile wars.
Yet, we remain in the sky, still shining,
Waiting to seek redemption
